Cuban-born artist Tony Labat, the "Bad Godfather of Performance" will be performing Friday night at Rocksbox along with installation artist Brian Sorts, the "Ugly World Renowned Art Rabble Rouser."

Jordon Domont & Jason Greene

Painters Jordon Domont and Jason Greene will be featured this month at art/waffle-house Jáce Gáce. Domont's work scrutinizes our relationship to the objects with which we surround ourselves, exposing our psychological attachments to everyday things, while Greene takes a more ambivalent approach to the quotidian, suggesting a new perspective on objects "from beer bottles to water towers."

Dana Dar-Maclean at Small A Projects
Dana Dart-Maclean

Two new shows are going up at Small A Projects. Dana Dart-Maclean's Stop Signs and Memories is a collection of paintings and sculptures exploring the particularities of individual memory. Corin Hewitt's Toad in a Hole is a continuation of his exploration of performance as a way to understand the process of monumental sculpture. Hewitt will be doing a perforance. He will be speaking about his work at PSU (5th Ave Cinema) on Monday, October 1, time TBA.

Remembery at Rererato

If you're feeling nostalgic, or looking for a creative interpretation of memory lane, visit Remembery: A Collection of Memory, exhibiting this month at Rererato. The show features artists Megan Burner, Megan Jacobs, Ann Mansolino, and Rob Southard, and musicians Allison Denis and Yeti Love will be performing at the opening. Don't miss Jacobs' piece Frozen before it melts away!
