Oh Valentine's!

valentine's.jpg

For those of you who are interested in making these chilly nights a little more lively, here's what is happening at Valentine's this week:

Tuesday 4/17: Drawing Party! If you've never been to our drawing parties before then don't be nervous. It's pretty simple. We get together, listen to good music, eat food and draw. Bring paper and a few supplies if you can. 7ish -11ish. Always free (every other Tuesday).

Wednesday 4/18: Exploration Team and Sarah Winchester will be playing some mellow musics. Sarah (who usually plays in a project called A Weather) has such a gorgeous voice that she could sing television theme songs from the 70s with a sock puppet and I would still be really into it. 9pm, Free.

Thursday 4/19: Stuff is going on...I think? Maybe a birthday, maybe a show, maybe a birthday show. Maybe not? Perhaps it might be a good night to bring a date for a sandwich.

Friday 4/20: Kele Goodwin, Beau Gervais, and Nick Delffs will play beautiful folk songs. Some may know Nick from the Shaky Hands. Others may know him as a general joy-spreader. What can I say? He's got good vibes. It's also very exciting to have Kele play after a long winter away from Portland and Valentine's. So happy to host these people. 9pm, Free!

Saturday 4/21: Record Release for Plankton Wat!
Plankton Wat is the solo project of Dewey Mahood (who also plays solid, dynamic Garage-Psych stuff in Eternal Tapestry). Dewey's solo project is a bit different: a really billowy, shimmering, guitar-based project that totally changes the mood of the room whenever he plays. Really good, guys. Nick Bendiman's, Tunnels, and Daniel Osborne's, Bird Costumes will also play in celebration. 9pm, and Free! (not taking into account the money you will undoubtedly fork over for the new cd in a hypnotized stupor of this guy's talent).

In case many of you are new to the scene at Valentine's, they have different shows and events going on most nights a week. The shows and events are FREE for the most part, and if they do require a cover, it is never exorbitant. TO add even further to the lively and most diverse atmosphere, almsot all of Valentine's shows are all ages.

So have some fun and visit the tiny heart tonight!
