W.J.T. Mitchell

Scholar W.J.T. Mitchell is speaking this evening on The Future of the Image at PNCA. Mitchell, editor of the interdisciplinary journal Critical Inquiry, is associated with the emergent fields of visual culture and iconology. He is known for his work on "the relations of visual and verbal representations in the context of social and political issues."

Okwui Enwezor

Okwui Enwezor will deliver the keynote address at this week's Foundations in Art: Theory and Education (FATE) conference. He will speak on globalization and art education in Studio, Lab, Study and the World: Art and Education in a Global World. Enwezor has directed the 7th Gwangju Biennale (2008) in South Korea, Documenta 11, in Kassel, Germany (1998-2002), and the 2nd Johannesburg Biennale (1996-1998). Tickets are $11.50.
