Apply!

Below is my latest list of opportunities you should check out. Remember, if you have an opportunity you would like to see posted, send me the info. This is a curated list and not all opportunities will be posted.

• A "a small non-profit gallery in the East Village" that you may have heard of, PS122, is accepting applications for two person and small group exhibitions. Applications will go before a panel of arts professionals including a curator, critic, artist and an Advisory Board member. Applications can be downloaded here.
Deadline: April 15

If you are eager to get on that NY train, another interesting venue in Brooklyn is looking at proposals. 3rd Ward is a 20,000 sq. ft. workspace and studio facility for artists & creative professionals, located in East Williamsburg. The gallery space is beautiful and raw with a good amount of natural light. The solo exhibitions run for four weeks and if selected, artists receive a free six month pass for use in any of the 3rd Ward facilities which seem very nicely equipped. A good opportunity for anyone looking to try the east coast on for size. More information here.
Deadline: Feb. 28
Fee: $25

Tilt Gallery and Project Space is currently seeking submissions for the juried exhibition Soft.  Artists are invited to submit up to three images for consideration.  The gallery is interested in showcasing new work that addresses the intellectual or perceptual interpretation of "soft".  Two- and three-dimensional work in all media is eligible for consideration.  Juror: Kristan Kennedy, Visual Art Program Director for PICA.

Deadline: April 15
Fee: $15/3 images

Jessica posted on this a few weeks ago, but here's your reminder: Portland Modern is seeking visual art submissions for its fifth issue, scheduled for release in June 2007. Up to ten artists will be selected for publication in a full color catalog and will participate in a group exhibition in July 2007 at the Portland Art Center. Submission is open to all visual artists currently living and working in Oregon and SW Washington. Work in any medium will be considered including, but not limited to: painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, film, fibers, video, installation, performance, etc. For full prospectus and more information, click here.
Deadline: March 31
Fee: $20 submission fee for the first 5 pieces, $5 additional for each extra piece (no more than 10 total)

• This one pays folks! RACC invites artist/teams living in Oregon or Washington to submit proposals for temporary installations in a designated space located in the lobby of the Portland Building at 1120 SW 5th Avenue. Up to five professional artists/teams will be selected for one-month installations between July 2007 and June 2008. Artists selected will receive a $750 honorarium. Yeah! For full RFP, click here.
Deadline: March 26
