Calls, Calls, and More Calls...

To further serve you, the Portland art community and beyond, I will be researching and posting on interesting Calls to Artists that offer opportunities regionally, nationally, and internationally. If you are a gallery, arts organization, or other who would like to see your Call to Artists featured here on PORT, you can email them to me directly at callsforartists@portlandart.net
Please keep in mind the lists I post will be selective and sending an announcement does not guarantee it will be posted. Here are a few to consider for now:

• The University Center Rochester Art Gallery is currently accepting submissions for the 2007-08 season. There are also lecture opportunities. Small stipend available. All media will be considered. Please submit a written proposal, resume, artist statement, 20 images in slide/CD (Mac), image list, and S.A.S.E. to Simon Huelsbeck, University Center Rochester, 851 30th Ave SE, Rochester MN 55904. Please email inquiries to simon.huelsbeck@roch.edu.
• TEXAS NATIONAL 2007, hosted by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art, will take place April 14-May 20. Now in its 13th year, this annual juried exhibition welcomes submissions in all media (except film, video, and performance) from artists working in the United States. Slides and digital images will be accepted. Entry fee is $25 for up to 3 slides. For prospectus and entry form, contact Shannon Bailey at TEXAS NATIONAL 2007, P.O. Box 13041, SFA Station, Nacogdoches, TX 75962-3041; (936) 468-1131; baileysl@sfasu.edu
•Drain Magazine, an online journal for Contemporary Art and Culture, is seeking entries for their next issue, Horror Vacui. There guidelines are specific so check them out here.
• Tacoma Contemporary seeks proposals for its 2007 Urban Art Installations program. This program invites artists, artist teams, and curators to develop temporary art installations for the windows of the F.W. Woolworth building, located in downtown Tacoma. Postmark Deadline: 11/15/06. For more information, click here.
