Using Global Media-Workshop Run By Matthew Stadler

Hurry! Hurry! 3 Spots Left!

Monday evenings, starting October 2, from 6:30-9:30 Matthew Stadler will be teaching a workshop entitled Using Global Media.

Matthew “describe(s) it as being ‘ for writers, artists, and activists who want to reach (or help create) communities near and far; this workshop provides tools for using interpersonal, material, and digital media globally.’

Meetings will be three hours long and combine pragmatic lessons for using the tools of global media (roughly summarized on the website) with a more general discussion about the meanings and histories of these methods. Readings will be limited to short texts we can read together in class, though I am happy to provide more extensive reading suggestions to anyone interested.

This is fundamentally a practical class offering real tools for work. I think that anyone who is already working on a project, be it writing, art, or activism, will benefit from the workshop. I expect all the students to bring the problems and challenges of their own projects to bear on our discussions and to use the workshop for help in solving them. “

The opportunity to connect to a small community that then fleshes out to a larger one via further connections to future workshop participants is what makes this prospect unique. The workshop runs for 10 weeks and costs a mere $275.

All inquiries should be sent to usingglobalmedia@gmail.com
